As we have already covered, Season 2: Build your Empire was a success and left very high expectations to what could come for Season 3 considering that most players tend to have a little more time to play because of the holidays and the 2K21 winter season was one of the most relished last year.Earlier today, through their official Twitter account, MyTeam announced the official theme for the third instalment of the NBA 2K22 seasons called Iced Out, and we will tell you everything you need to know.

Season 3 is all about having the ice in your veins to be that'clutch' player and win the game for your team in the most intense situations. Alongside new rewards and a complete Christmas overhaul, Season 3 includes the all-new'Clutch Time 'game mode.

The upcoming Multiplayer Mode takes place in the final moments of a game, where you and your opponent start tied with 5 minutes on the clock. To make things even more intense, there’s a 14-second shot clock.Clutch Time is not the only game mode arriving at NBA 2K22.Clutch Time will arrive at MyTeam bringing a fast-paced battle with other ballers.

Clutch Time offers short-burst fun with tons of exclusive rewards.2K SportsRewards: Animated Iced Out bundle as a level 40 reward, new jumpshot animation, an Iced Out Jewelry Pack, and a Holiday Mask.Clutch Time: The game starts tied with five minutes on the clock and a 14-second shot clock. In overtime, the first player to score with an overtime tip-off wins. There is also a four-point line. The mode features exclusive rewards and a 50-win ladder to climb.

Additionally, on Dec. 25, Next Gen players will be able to visit the "Xmas tree" and claim a present. For those on Current Gen, 2K emphasized that they "made sure" to gift you something too in the form of new limited-time events.Lastly, 2K also added that starting at the beginning of Season 3, players' unused 2XP Coins will not transfer over from previous seasons in order to "improve the Season-to-Season experience and competitive balance." As such, be sure to use those 2XP Coins before they expire at the turn of the new season.
